my most listened to releases of 2011

i had originally posted another version of this list, with full write-ups, that i was quite pleased with. but then i got the WordPress white screen of death in the middle of the night. page was working fine when i went to bed, then poof. and i hadn’t backed it up.

so i’m going to let the videos speak for themselves this time around. i’ve also amended the original list as i completely gapped on Wye Oak’s brilliant Civilian. please give these albums a listen! they’re all fantastic!

oh, and thank you to Merge Records, who released three of the eight albums on my list. oh Merge, i love you so…

Wye Oak – Civilian

Richard Buckner – Our Blood

Crooked Fingers – Breaks in the Armor

Wilco – The Whole Love

The Decemberists – The King is Dead

J Mascis – Several Shades of Why

Thurston Moore – Demolished Thoughts

Laura Marling  – A Creature I Don’t Know
